Philosophy
and Goals
Our
"goal" is to help children develop into confident,
competent human beings, endowed with a zest for life
and an appetite for all that life offers. We will invite
and encourage children to think creatively, to use their
senses, and to become involved in all facets of learning
and promote the emotional, social, and intellectual
development of each child at his or her own pace, in
a safe, positive environment. The classrooms have been
designed to encourage exploration and creativity as
children play both individually and as a group.
At
Babes and Kids we:
• |
Provide
an environment that helps develop and meet the needs
of the whole child, in the areas of social, emotional,
intellectual and physical growth. |
• |
Provide
a well defined program that is child centered and
experience oriented for all age levels. |
• |
Guide
each child to develop a sense of responsibility
for his/her own actions. |
• |
Strive
to develop relationships of mutual trust with families
we serve. |
• |
Respect
cultural diversity by involving children in multicultural
and anti-bias activities. |
• |
Help
each child find happiness and satisfaction in accomplishments,
thus developing a positive self-esteem. |
• |
Recognize
and respect through inclusion, the uniqueness and
potential of all children. |
Programs
Infants
(ages 6 weeks-12 months)
Your child will experience a well-balanced nurturing
environment that provides stimulating activities and
materials to accommodate exploration. Gross motor skills
will be encouraged through one-on-one interactions with
the teacher. Through books, music and finger plays your
child will have a chance to experience and develop their
own creativity.
Toddlers
(age 12-24 months)
Through music, games, stories and nursery rhymes, your
child will build self-confidence and language skills.
Creativity is encouraged through music, painting, puzzles,
and other activities while teaching the basic concepts
of colors and shapes.
Early
Pre-School (2 year olds)
Your child will explore with hands-on learning experiences
through music, art, math, science, cooking, dramatic
play and blocks. Your child will expand their language
skills and begin to develop a familiarity with the alphabet
and numbers. This is also a time for enhancing your
child's fine motor skills, as well as working on developing
the social, emotional and listening skills needed to
learn effectively.
Pre-School
(3 to 5 year olds)
Our pre-school curriculum continues your child's development
of social, emotional, and physical skills, and the positive
behavior towards others. Your child will engage in a
variety of activities through hands-on play at centers
(art, blocks, math, science, dramatic play, etc.) that
will increase their cognitive skills. There is an added
emphasis on math concepts and pre-reading skills. Spanish
and computers are also included at this time.

children from local elementary schools to the center.
Weekly enrichment themes provide a delightful array
of art projects and games. Homework assistance is provided
if needed.
Summer
Camp
Summer camp programs are offered to children five to
twelve years of age who have completed kindergarten.
Program highlights include weekly adventure themes and
activities such as arts and crafts, field trips, music,
